CARE FOR YOUR JEWELLERY
While at home and in between professional inspections, it is a good idea to keep your jewellery clean. This maintains the look of your jewellery and will put a smile on your face when you are done!
To clean up your diamond jewellery, get mild ammonia, mix it with water to make a cleaning solution. Follow the instructions on the ammonia container for proportions. Then use a soft bristle brush to remove the scum and dirt that accumulates on the setting, carefully avoid scrubbing directly on the diamonds.
Soak your jewellery in warm, soapy water for a few minutes to soften the dirt on it. Use a soft brush to loosen and remove it. Avoid scrubbing directly on the gemstones. Also avoid using harsh chemicals to clean your gemstone jewellery. Ready-made jewellery cleaners are also available in the market, just make sure to purchase a non-abrasive one.
The metal on your jewellery will get cleaned as use the above cleaning methods. Make sure you use a soft brush to avoid scratching the metal, especially gold. Use also a lint-free cloth to wipe your jewellery, that way you don’t have little fibres stuck on your jewellery. However to restore the metal’s lustre and remove scratches, it needs to be professionally polished and re-plated. You can have this done during your free inspection sessions or bring it in to us in between these inspections anytime.
For all your Godgita Diamond Design jewellery, we do not recommend that you try to repair the piece for yourself or take it to another jeweller. This would immediately nullify your warranty. Bring in your jewellery to Godgita Diamond Design for repairs as soon as you notice a problem to avoid worsening. Other than this, during your scheduled inspections the attending jeweller will check your piece for wear and tear, loose stones and any other issues. Preventative repair is best.
